Gettysburg, PA is a great destination for history buffs and those not so interested in the famous battle(s); most likely the deciding battle in the Civil War.
This beautiful area has much to offer. Does your family tree include someone who was involved in the Civil War. In Gettysburg you have The Gettysburg National Military Park and The National Cemetery. Battles were fought all over this area; most likely the decisive battle that saved the nation from dividing. Even Union dead remain buried on Cemetery Hill, a battle site.
There is golf, skiing, trails for hiking and a train ride through the forests. Breweries sell wonderful beer for the adults who want to relax at the end of the day. There is something for everyone in the family.
