At school the students are getting very sick. Just when the first round of students get
better another group stays home. Those who are exposed to so much illness seem
to get sick too. I did practice what I preach and did so much preventive work, but the body
failed me. I did get a mild case of the flu, which then turned into a cold. Rest was limited
since grades are due and the daily lesson planning never ends.
Elderberry is very good for boosting the immune system, but it also promotes sweating.
Sweat evaporates and cools the skin therefore elderberry can reduce fevers. Mix together
elder, yarrow and peppermint for a tea. Use one tablespoon of the tea per pint of boiling
water and steep for twenty minutes. Drink four to six cups per day as needed.
